Combe House Hotel & Restaurant

Lovely location. Historic building with a water wheel(inactive). Flooring upstairs is "historic" too so need to take care. The only thing to be aware of is if you paid for bed and breakfast it doesn't include a cooked breakfast or porridge. That's an extra £10 !

Beautiful gem of a hotel. I stayed at the Combe House Hotel for business and what a lovely little find it was. The locations is set in the most beautiful rural location with the most stunning walks around. The hotel is very well kept with the room being perfect, I had a great nights sleep. The evening meal was fantastic with a great selection and is a compliment to the hotel and most of all chef. The staff made the stay, as they couldn’t do enough for me, were super friendly, kind and helpful. I would most definitely recommend the hotel and restaurant and would love to return for a night or two for a little break. Keep up the great work, personal family touch and fantastic atmosphere.

Idyllic quiet location. Charming old period property well maintained within lovely grounds. Friendly, hard working staff, that provided a great service. Nothing was too much trouble.

We recently held our wedding at Combe House Hotel and were very pleased with the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to accommodate our requests. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, which was exactly what we wanted. The food was excellent, and overall, the venue provided everything we needed for a lovely wedding day. We would happily recommend Combe House Hotel to others.

A group of four of us stayed here for three nights over a long weekend in the Quantocks, and we were pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The rooms were comfortable, and half of our group was even upgraded to a suite with an additional seating area, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was a real highlight, delicious, with excellent sausages and plenty of flexibility to accommodate preferences. We also dined at the hotel one evening. While the menu felt a little overcomplicated and could perhaps benefit from being streamlined, the dishes themselves were beautifully prepared and very enjoyable. The only drawback was the lack of atmosphere in the dining area, as we happened to be the only group eating there that night. The hotel grounds are stunning, backing onto a large forest that’s perfect for a morning walk. The nearby village and church are also worth a visit, offering a charming place to wander. The location itself is ideal for exploring the Quantock Hills and surrounding national parks. The only downside is that the hotel is situated right next to a busy road, so light sleepers may want to request a room at the back of the property for a quieter night.

Beautiful gardens for a quiet drink! We didn't stay but stopped whilst passing on a long walk. My partner arrived first and had a drink by the lovely stream and then the rest of us arrived and had afternoon tea and cake on the lawn. Excellent tea, delicious cakes and friendly service - such a great place we will look to go back and stay sometime!
